Getting to Sotogrande
Sotogrande is located on the western side of the Costal del Sol approximately half way between Gibraltar and Estepona. There is road access to Sotogrande from all major nearby places such as Marbella, Malaga, Jerez, Cadiz and Seville via the dual carriageway that runs along the coast or the toll road (motorway).

The nearest international airport is only 15 minutes away in Gibraltar. The range of flights available from Gibraltar is currently limited although there is a regular service to London. Plans are also at an advanced stage for a new airline which will operate out of Gibraltar to a variety of destinations in the UK.
Malaga International Airport is around 1 hours drive away from Sotogrande and you can choose to fly with a huge range of low cost carriers and to a wide range of destinations. The airport at Malaga is easily commutable, especially when you use the new AP7 toll motorway.
Wherever you are coming from, Sotogrande is very easy to find and can be easily reached from both the main N340/A7 coast road and the AP7 toll motorway.

If you are heading to Sotogrande from Malaga airport, you need to follow signs for the A7/N340 in the direction of Cadiz and Algeciras. When you leave the airport you need to first head onto the MA21, which will lead you onto the main A7 / N340. You can stay on this road until you reach Benalmadena and then you will have a choice of staying on the main coast road or diverting off onto the AP7 toll road. Although you will have to pay to use the toll road, it is worth doing especially if you are heading as far down the coast as Sotogrande. The AP7 toll road has much less traffic than the main A7 / N340 coast road and using it will cut a lot of time off your journey.
Whether you use the toll road or stay on the A7, you will drive past Benalmadena, Torremolinos, Fuengirola, Marbella, San Pedro Alcantara, Estepona and Duquesa before you arrive in the Sotogrande area. Sotogrande is clearly sign posted from the main road.
If you are heading to Sotogrande from the direction of Gibraltar or Algeciras, then you should follow signs towards La Linea and Sotogrande from the A7 / N340 coast road.

Anyone who is planning to arrive in Sotogrande using public transport will need to take the bus as there are currently no train services running to this area. You can catch buses to Sotogrande from Malaga, Torremolinos, Benalmadena, Fuengirola, Marbella, San Pedro and Estepona to the eastern side of Sotogrande and from La Linea on the western side. If you are arriving from Gibraltar airport then you can either take a taxi from outside the airport arrivals hall or you can walk across into La Linea and pick up a bus heading towards Sotogrande and Estepona from there.
Travellers heading to Sotogrande from other parts of Spain can catch a train to Algeciras or Malaga, which are the nearest mainline stations to Sotogrande. You will be able to swap to local buses and coaches at both these places.
