Mini guide to Puerto Banus
As its name suggests, the heart of Puerto Banus is the port area itself, which is home to hundreds of beautiful boats including a stunning luxury yacht belonging to the King of Saudi Arabia.

Many of the yachts moored up at the marina enjoy superb views of the distinctive La Concha mountain. It can be seen for miles around and provides a dramatic backdrop to the gleaming boats and the whitewashed houses surrounding the marina.
The permanent residents of Puerto Banus are generally wealthy people and the ambiance and facilities in the area reflect this. The entire area is beautifully maintained and spotlessly clean, with pleasant squares and rest areas.
For shopping, Puerto Banus offers an outstanding choice of world class brands and stores including Dolce and Gabanna, Versace, Louis Vuitton, Hermes, Prada and many more. The area is also home to a massive branch of the Spanish department store El Corte Ingles, where you can find everything from cosmetics to food, electronics, clothes and home wares.

When it comes to eating, you are also spoiled for choice with all tastes and budgets catered for from sardines on the beach to traditional tapas and fine dining. Many global chains such as McDonalds and Burger King have a presence here, as does the Pizza Express chain. At the other end of the scale you can enjoy Michelin-standard dining at a variety of excellent restaurants and hotel and club dining rooms. Puerto Banus has always been a place ´to be seen´ and whatever time of the day or night you visit, people watching is a fascinating pastime.
During the evening, most of the bars and clubs are open until the early hours of the morning, with many staying open until 6am when the more hardened party animals begin to make their way home. During the summer the area really comes alive with thousands of tourists and residents spilling out onto the port and the streets surrounding the marina to enjoy the evening sun.

Art lovers will enjoy taking a break from people watching to view some of the areas famous statues. The largest of which is a distinctive statue of a Rhino, which was designed by Salvador Dali and presented to Puerto Banus in 2004. The statue sits on the Cristamar roundabout, which is one of the main entrance points to Banus itself. Officially known as Rinoceronte Vestido con Puntillas, the statue weighs three tones and was donated to the council in 2004 to celebrate the centenary of Dali’s birth.
