Exploring Elviria
Golf, shopping sunbathing, tennis and walking are just some of the many leisure time activities that are on offer in Elviria and the surrounding areas.

You will find the La Canada Commercial Centre around 10 minutes´ drive from Elviria. La Canada is the biggest shopping centre on the coast and you will find a wide choice of products and shops here.
All the main Spanish clothes shops are here including Zara, Mango, Sfera and Bershka. What is more surprising is how many UK high street stores are also present there! At La Canada you will find Topshop, Dorothy Perkins, Wallis, Evans and H&M. Aside from clothes shops there are a variety of home and DIY stores, sports shops and a large branch of Al Campo supermarket.
When you have had enough of shopping you can enjoy a coffee or a beer at one of the many restaurants and bars within the centre, or try some tapas at the outdoor cervezeria.
There is also a cinema, a ten pin bowling alley and a selection of fast food establishments. This is a great place to go if you are looking for something to do on one of those odd occasions that it rains. Although be warned, you will find everyone else there shopping on that day too!

If you travel a few minutes from Elviria in the direction of Calahonda, you will come across the area of Capobino, which offers a lovely port filled with boats and lined by a selection of lovely restaurants. Here you can taste some delicious paella or opt for something non-Spanish if the mood takes you.
During the daytime there are plenty of things to do in and around Elviria. Why not walk or drive down to the beautiful beach and spend the afternoon swimming in the clear blue sea or relaxing on one of the many sun loungers that line the sands. Or you could sign up for some lessons at one of the areas famed tennis academies or at the El Casco tennis centre. The weather in Elviria is perfect for tennis all year round and this area has played host to a number of high level competitions. If you are beginner you will find many lessons and private tutors available who can help you improve your game during your stay. If the temperatures during the day are a little to warm for tennis, then many of the clubs offer floodlit evening games.
One of the major draws to the area is of course the game of golf. The Costa del Sol is also known as the Costa del Golf! And golfers are spoilt for choice with many quality courses in the area. The mild winter climate and sun attracts players all year round and many have chosen the area to buy a second home, giving them easy access to the courses whenever they want.

There are currently around 80 courses dotted around this part of southern Andalucia including the world famous Valderrama and the Alcaidesa links course, which are both within easy driving distance of Elviria. You will also find plenty of properties available on purpose-built golf resorts. Designed by the likes of Seve Ballesteros, these resorts are incredibly popular and offer fantastic courses as well as modern and luxurious accommodation.
With the range of leisure facilities and amenities available in and around Elviria, the area has attracted a lot of families looking for second homes and to live here all year round. The area is also home to a large English-speaking community, an excellent international school and the modern Costa del Sol hospital is just a few minutes away.
