Getting to Coin
The inland village of Coin is located around 30 minutes drive from the large coastal town of Fuengirola, 20 minutes from the picturesque white village of Mijas and approximately 20 minutes drive to the busy international airport in Malaga.

Coin is in an excellent geographical position and it is very easy to get to, whichever direction you are coming from.
To get to Coin from Malaga International Airport, in the first instance you need to head for signs towards the A7 and MA-21 in the direction of Cadiz and Algeciras. When you get to the roundabout at the main airport exit you need to take the second exit, which will take you onto the MA-21. Move over into the right hand lane and then you will take a right fork onto the main dual carriageway which is signed A7. Stay on this road for around one mile until you start to see signs for Coin and Churriana. You will need to come off the main dual carriageway at the Coin and Churriana exit. You will then pass signs for Alhaurin de la Torre and Alhaurin el Grande before you arrive in Coin.
You also have the option of travelling to Coin from Malaga airport by taxi. You will find the taxi rank at the airport outside the arrivals hall and there are always plenty of cars available.

Coin is also easily reached if you are planning to travel there from the direction of Marbella and Gibraltar. If you are driving from the direction of Gibraltar and Marbella then you need to drive along the main A7 / N340 coast road or the AP7 toll road until you reach the La Canada shopping centre, which is just to the east of Marbella. From here you need to take the Ojen exit and head onto the A355. This road will take you through the villages of Ojen and Monda before you arrive in Coin.
If you are planning to travel to Coin using public transport then you have a variety of options. Coming from Malaga airport, the easiest thing to do is to catch a local bus from outside the airport arrivals hall to the main bus station in Malaga city. From here you will be able to catch a direct bus to the centre of Coin. There are 12 buses on weekdays from Malaga to Coin and the journey takes approximately one hour and it will cost around 3€ per person. You can also catch a bus from Malaga to Coin on Saturdays and Sundays – although the services are much less frequent.

If you want to get to Coin from other locations along the coast then you can pick up bus services from a number of other places. There are six direct buses available per day from Marbella to Coin and four from Fuengirola to Coin. Journey times for both are just over one hour. You can also pick up buses heading to Coin from Alhaurin el Grande, Mijas, Monda, Ojen, Tolox and Guaro.
