Getting to Benalmadena
Wherever you are coming from, it really is very straightforward to get to Benalmadena. The area is a quick and easy 17 kilometres from the main Malaga International Airport. Malaga airport serves 100s of destinations worldwide every day, so no matter where you are starting out from, Benalmadena is within easy reach.

If you are driving to Benalmadena from Malaga airport, then you need to head for the main N340 / A7 coast road. This is the lifeline of the whole of the Costa del Sol and you can use it to reach all the resorts along the coast as well as the main cities too.
When you leave the airport you need to follow the signs to the N340 / A7 in the direction of Algeciras and Cadiz. At first you will go onto the MA-21 for a short distance and then you will veer off to the right to get onto the main coast road.
As soon as you get onto the main coast road you will start to see signs for Torremolinos. Keep following the signs to Torremolinos and you will soon begin to see signs for Benalmadena and Fuengirola too. Keep following the signs and you will soon see exits signed for Benalmadena Costa and Benalmadena Pueblo. If you are heading to the main coastal resort then you need to take the exit marked Benalmadena Costa. If you are heading to the old town of Benalmadena then you need to take the exit that is signed Benalmadena Pueblo. The whole area is well signed so you should not have any problems finding your way around Benalmadena.

If you want to reach Benalmadena from the western side of the Costa del Sol or from Marbella then you will still need to head for the main N340 / A7 coastal road. If you are coming from Marbella then follow signs towards Fuengirola and Malaga. After leaving Marbella you will see signs to Fuengirola and you need to keep following these. Keep driving towards Fuengirola and you will eventually begin to see signs for Benalmadena itself. You will drive past Fuengirola and you will pass a very large El Corte Ingles superstore on your left hand side. Soon after this you will see signs to Benalmadena Costa and Benalmadena Pueblo.
It is also very easy to reach Benalmadena using public transport as you can use both the bus and the train services. Reaching Benalmadena by train from Malaga airport is very straightforward. When you leave the airport you should follow the red signs to the train station, which is on the other side of the short stay departures car park. Here you will be able to pick up the local train line which runs between Malaga city centre to the east and Fuengirola to the west. This train stops at both Benalmadena and Arroyo de la Miel, which is also in the Benalmadena district.
This train service is very convenient for travelling along the eastern part of the coast and the train leaves from the Malaga airport stop every 30 minutes. After leaving the airport it will stop at Torremolinos before reaching Benalmadena and Arroyo de la Miel.

Benalmadena is also very well served by buses from right along the Costa del Sol and you can travel direct from Algeciras, La Linea, Jerez, Estepona, Marbella and Fuengirola in the west. From the east you can travel direct from Malaga bus station and Torremolinos. You can also travel direct to Benalmadena from Rhonda and Mijas Pueblo.
If you prefer to take a taxi to Benalmadena from the airport at Malaga then you will not have any problems finding one. There are plenty of taxis outside the arrivals hall at Malaga airport and the journey to Benalmadena will take around 20 minutes.
