Getting to Alhaurin El Grande
The village of Alhaurin el Grande is only 26 kilometres from Malaga International Airport, the gateway to southern Andalucia. This means it really is easy and convenient to get to Alhaurin el Grande from 100s of destinations across the world.

The drive from the airport will take you around 15 minutes and directions from Malaga airport to Alhaurin el Grande are easy to follow. When you leave the airport, you should head out onto Avenida Velazquez, which is accessed by taking the second exit of the roundabout at the end of the main airport road. This should also be signed as MA-21. You need to stay on the MA-21 for just over a mile until you begin to see signs for Coin or the Carretera Coin, which is also the A-404. Stay on the A-404 towards Coin for about 11 kilometres until you see signs for Alhaurin el Grande. You will eventually turn right onto the C-334 / A-404 and after around 12 kilometres you will enter the village of Alhaurin el Grande.
If you are planning to arrive at Malaga airport without a car, then the easiest way to get to Alhaurin el Grande is to take a taxi. Malaga airport is very well served by taxis and so you will not have any problems finding one. Once you leave the arrivals gate at the airport, follow the taxi signs and you will find the main taxi rank outside the arrivals hall.

Arriving at Alhaurin el Grande by public transport is very simple too. The village is well served by bus routes from Malaga, Fuengirola, Coin and many other local villages.
If you want to take the bus from Malaga then you can a bus from the main Malaga bus station. Buses towards Alhaurin el Grande leave the bus station at least once and hour during the week and on Saturdays. Buses also run on Sundays but less often. The last bus currently leaves Malaga for Alhaurin el Grande at 8pm every day. The journey between Malaga bus station and Alhaurin el Grand takes around 1 hour and the price of the tickets is under 2 euro per person. Check with the bus station at Malaga for exact times as timetables may change throughout the year.

If you are not coming from Malaga airport and you are approaching Alhaurin el Grande from the direction of Fuengirola on the main N340 coast road, then you need to follow signs in the direction of Coin. Leave the N340 at the Coin exit close to Fuengirola and follow signs towards Alhaurin and Coin. On the approach to Alhaurin you will pass the large Alhaurin Golf resort. Once you have passed the golf resort you will come to a large roundabout, which is at the main entrance to the village. Go straight ahead here and you will be entering the village of Alhaurin el Grande.
You can also catch a bus to Alhaurin el Grande from Mondays to Saturdays from the main bus stop in Fuengirola. There are four buses each day between the two places and the journey lasts 45 minutes. The fare costs just over 1 euro per person.
There is no train service serving Alhaurin el Grande at present. If you want to arrive at the village using the train, you would need to take the local train from Malaga airport and stay on it all the way to Fuengirola. When you arrive at Fuengirola, you would need to walk the short distance from the train station to the bus station and then catch the bus to Alhaurin el Grande.
